Spirit Week is Back!
A new school year means that it’s finally time for homecoming! And with homecoming comes a variety of festivities, one of which is Spirit Week. An entire week has been set up to let students (and faculty!) show their MHS pride.
In the past, Spirit Week has been very popular, with almost every student participating in some way. Each day there is a different theme, such as Pajama Day, Decades Day, or Twin Day, giving everyone multiple opportunities to show their school spirit, all while having some fun! This year, there are many returning favorites, like Twin Day, and a few new ones that are sure to be a hit.
Here is this year’s Spirit Week schedule:
Monday October 17th – Pajama Day
Tuesday October 18th – Ugly Sweater Day – New!
Wednesday October 19th – Color War Day – New! Other schools have done this for years, and now MHS has added it to our spirit week. Freshmen wear orange, sophomores wear red, juniors wear blue, and seniors wear white. Teachers will dress in all black.
Thursday October 20th – Twin Day
Friday October 21th – Green and White/MHS Pride Day
Friday will also be the day of the Homecoming Pep Rally during school, and later the Homecoming football game.
Each day, students will have the opportunity to be judged on their outfits and school spirit! If you would like to be judged for that particular day, you can go to the main office before the first bell. There, the administrators and secretaries will score all those who choose to enter, and pick a winner for that day. The winner will win a free ticket to the Fall Ball, this year’s one and only semi-formal. This semi-formal will be on October 22nd.
Along with all the opportunities to dress up, each grade will engage in some friendly competition while benefitting others as well. Students are asked to bring in nonperishable items for the Mansfield Food Pantry. The food can be dropped off in the main lobby, where there will be a separate box for each grade.
Be sure to show your Mansfield High School spirit all next week!
